Pizza Florentine Appetizers
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
- 1 tsp. dried basil
- 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes or pepper
- 1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
- 2 (10 oz. each) 8-inch prepared pizza crusts
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 8 slices Sargento® Deli Style Sliced Provolone or Mozzarella Cheese
- 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil (optional)
- 1 chopped tomato (optional)
Directions
- Heat oil in a small skillet over medium heat. Add garlic; cook 1 minute. Add spinach, basil, pepper flakes and, if desired, salt; cook 2 minutes more, stirring frequently.
- Arrange pizza crusts on baking sheet. Spread pizza sauce over crusts; top with spinach mixture and cheese. Bake in preheated 450°F oven 8 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
- Sprinkle fresh basil and tomato over pizzas, if desired. Cut each pizza into 8 wedges; serve warm.
