<p>Sargento® Fiesta™ Pepper String Cheese is cut into pieces, enrobed with fresh pizza dough, brushed with butter, and sprinkled with cornmeal. They are baked until golden brown and served with a side of salsa for dipping.</p>

Ingredients
  • 1 lb. Pizza dough, divided into 12 equal pieces
  • 8 Sticks Sargento® Fiesta™ Pepper String Cheese, cut into thirds
  • 1 Tbsp. Butter, melted
  • 1 Tbsp. Yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup Salsa, optional
Directions
  1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Press a piece of dough into a 2 ½” - 3” circle in the palm of your hand. Transfer to the baking sheet. Repeat with remaining pieces of dough.
  3. Place 2 pieces of string cheese in the center of each circle. Bring the sides up and over the cheese and press together firmly, making sure all edges are well sealed.
  4. Place cheese stuffed dough ball seam side down on the baking sheet. Repeat with remaining dough rounds, placing each round about 2” apart.
  5. Brush each stuffed ball with butter, then sprinkle with cornmeal.
  6. Transfer baking sheet to middle rack of oven. Bake for 15-17 minutes or until golden brown or cheese starts oozing from one of the rolls.
  7. Transfer hot rolls to a serving plate or basket and serve with a side of salsa for dipping.
  8. Note: For a smokey alternative, substitute Sargento Smokehouse String Cheese for the Fiesta String Cheese.
